What is high blood pressure(hypertension)?

High blood pressure is a fatal outcome of uncontrolled lifestyle. It is a medical condition in which blood pressure in the arteries becomes faster than normal. Blood pressure remains below 120/80 mmHg in normal conditions. When the blood pressure is between 120/80 mmHg to 139/89 mmHg, it is called pre-hypertension. At the same time, the problem of high blood pressure occurs when the blood pressure exceeds 140/90 mmHg.
Friends, there are two types of high blood pressure. Primary and Secondary

Primary: This is the initial type of hypertension. It occurs simultaneously with aging. Therefore, most people fall prey to it.

Secondary: High blood pressure caused by any other disease or medication is placed in this category. Stopping treatment or medication can make the condition serious.

Some of the major causes of high blood pressure( hypertension )

  • Decreased physical activity
  • Excess salt in a food
  • Increasing age
  • Heredity
  • Alcoholism
  • Stress and thyroid
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Adrenal problems (glands above the kidneys)
  • Sleep apnea (a severe sleep disorder)
  • Smoking
  • Obesity

Some symptoms of high blood pressure

High blood pressure is often called the ‘silent killer’, as it sometimes enters the body without knocking. Here we are giving some symptoms, from which high blood pressure can be identified.

  • More stress
  • Nose bleeding
  • Chest pain or heaviness
  • Respiratory distress
  • Sudden panic
  • Difficulty understanding or speaking
  • Sudden numbness in the face, arm or leg
  • Tingling or Feeling Weakness
  • Fainting

Note: In some cases, its symptoms may not be seen, unless medical checkup is done.

Hypertension is a serious problem, which cannot be eradicated from the root but can be controlled. Today, many medicines will be available in the market for the treatment of high blood pressure, but this problem can be controlled to some extent at home.
