What is IVF Treatment

IVF Treatment– In today’s time, the kind of lifestyle we are adopting, whether it is a woman or a man, it is becoming a cause of trouble for both. Today’s diet, as well as there, are many other reasons such as stress and lifestyle, due to which many women and men are unable to enjoy the pleasure of becoming parents and they have to be helpless. Today, many types of technology have come in our country (IVF Treatment), which can remove many such problems very easily, but even today many people do not know anything about it.

There are also many reasons due to which women have to face trouble in conceiving. Even if she is conceived, she also has to face problems like having missed carriage or not being able to get pregnant successfully. In such a situation, there are new techniques in today’s era, which have been discovered by scientists so that the problem of such couples who are facing problems in pregnancy can be solved. One such solution is called IVF technology.

What is IVF Technique

IVF is also known as In Vitro Fertilization. In which the sperm of the man and the egg of the woman are mixed in the lab and inserted into the uterus of a woman who wants to become a mother. Earlier this process was known as “test-tube baby”. This process was first used in 1978 in England. During IVF treatment, a woman’s egg and a man’s sperm are mixed in the lab under controlled conditions. Once the embryo is formed, it is placed back into the woman’s uterus. Although IVF is a complex and costly procedure, it is very helpful for couples who have been preparing for pregnancy for a long time or have failed other fertility treatments for some reason.

When is IVF advice given?

IVF is not recommended for very simple health problems. Doctors recommend IVF when couples have 5 health problems. In a way, it is the conditions of IV that doctors recommend IVF only because of having to face it.

  • Blockage in the fallopian tubes– IVF is mainly done when a woman has a blockage in the fallopian tubes.
  • Male Infertility– Often, male infertility is also the reason for not becoming parents of a married couple. In this situation also IVF Treatment can prove to be a better option.
  • Suffering from PCOS– If a woman is suffering from PCOS and if she wants to become a mother, then she can adopt IVF for this.
  • Having a genetic disease– Genetic disease is also the reason for being deprived of the happiness of a person’s child. Such people do not need to be disappointed as they can get child happiness through IVF.
  • Not knowing the exact cause of infertility– There are many cases in which the exact cause of infertility is not known. For this reason, IVF is also done to find out the cause of infertility.

How is IVF treatment done?

IVF Treatment step by step information:-

  1. In this process females and males are checked, after that the process is carried forward according to the result.
  2. The sperm of the man is cleaned in the lab. The good and inactive or useless sperms are then separated.

The egg is taken out of the woman’s body through injection and it is frozen. These days, women are already getting their eggs frozen to deal with the problem of having children due to getting married after getting older and the onset of menopause. So that they do not have to face any kind of trouble while walking.

  1. The active sperm is then placed on top of the egg in a petri-dish in the lab and left to reproduce naturally.
  2. By the third day of reproduction, the embryo is ready. Sometimes it takes 3 to 7 days also.
  3. With the help of a catheter (a special flexible tube), that embryo is transferred into the woman’s uterus.

Sometimes the embryo is placed in the woman’s uterus after monitoring for up to 5 days. The pregnancy success rate is higher in a 5-day-old fetus.

A normal pregnancy with IVF Treatment

IVF pregnancy is similar to normal pregnancy, only the embryo is prepared in the lab, which does not cause any side effects. Many people believe that by conceiving pregnancy through the IVF technique, there can be some deficiency in the child. But this is not true because the whole process from reproduction to childbirth happens naturally. The development of the baby takes place in the mother’s womb, the development of the child depends on the diet and reactions of the mother.

There are different types of treatment for many fertility problems. Sometimes the problem can be due to lack of sperm, movement of sperms, size of sperms, absence of sperm in the sperm, poor quality sperm, poor quality eggs, or problems in ovulation.

IVF Treatment Process

IVF Treatment is also done in different ways-

Intrauterine insemination (IUI)

This is a technique where a male sperm is inserted into a woman’s uterus during ovulation. This technique is used if there is any deficiency in the sperms of the man. In this procedure, after cleaning the sperm in the lab, healthy sperm is selected which is transferred to the woman’s uterus. If the sperm of the male is good, it is active only then this process is successful.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

Healthy sperm is taken from a man’s sperm and then injected into a woman’s egg. This procedure is used in cases where the motility of male sperm is low. ICSI success is 70-85% for healthy female eggs. After the sperm is injected into the egg, it is fertilized naturally. The embryo is then implanted in the woman’s uterus.

Donor IVF Treatment procedure

If the quality of sperm or eggs of the couple/spouse is poor, then in such a situation, donor egg or sperm and donor embryo are used. Donor IVF is recommended in cases where the partner is suffering from a genetic disease, in women with ovarian reserve failure, a donor egg is needed.

Surrogacy- adopted womb or surrogacy

When a woman is facing problems in the uterus or any other difficulty due to which she cannot give birth, then surrogacy is a good option for them. Surrogacy is a contract in which the surrogate mother (the woman who is ready to give birth to a child from her womb) keeps the baby in her womb until the birth and passes it to the parents after birth.

In this, the embryo is fertilized inside the lab and transferred to the uterus of the surrogate mother. The baby has no genetic relationship with the surrogate mother, it belongs entirely to the couple whose sperm and egg are fertilized and placed in the womb of the surrogate mother.

There are many reasons why couples choose surrogacy, including cancer treatment, or women who do not have a uterus or have a problem with their reproductive system. In IVF treatment, when the embryo is implanted in the woman’s uterus after being ready, it is kept under special attention and observation for a few days.

For about 20 days. During this, it is seen that what process is the woman’s body giving towards it? If a woman observes any kind of uterine pain, cramping, bleeding or any other discomfort after embryo implantation, then this procedure is stopped as it is a failed procedure.

This process requires some restraint as it takes time, and the process may have to be continued until it is successful. After implanting the embryo in the uterus, its success and failure are known through blood or pregnancy test at 14 days. In a way, it technically becomes a means of conceiving.
