What is Hunza Tea?
Hunza tea recipe is a tea that contains antioxidant phenols and flavonoids, which have been proven to have many health benefits. The tea is known to help cure arthritis, asthma, cancer, heart disease, and even obesity. People suffering from arthritis usually get great relief by drinking this tea regularly. This tea can be made at home using a few ingredients. Who doesn’t like tea? Here is a tea recipe that you will love. This tea has many health benefits and it tastes great too! let’s get started.
Hunza Tea ingradient.
- Cinnamon Powder 1 tbsp
- Clove Powder tsp
- Jaggery powder 2 tbsp
- 10-15 leaves of basil (torn)
- Mint 10-15 leaves (torn)
- Cardamom seeds 3-4 (crushed)
- water (3 cups)
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp (according to the taste of the tea)
- Preferably fresh squeezed lemon juice. If not, use bottled lemon juice. It gives more flavor than normal water. So, squeeze half a fresh lemon into the tea mixture before adding the tea leaves.
Hunza Tea making process.
- Take a saucepan and boil water in it. Add tea leaves to boiling water and let it boil for about 4-5 minutes on low flame. Turn off the heat and strain the tea leaves from the tea mixture using a tea strainer, tea press, or cheesecloth.
- Press the tea leaves well to extract all the juice from the tea leaves. That’s why I suggested using a tea press as you can squeeze the tea mixture several times until all the juice is gone.
- Transfer the strained tea to another container which should be transparent like a glass or plastic jar/container (preferably transparent).
- Now add spices (cinnamon powder, clove powder, jaggery powder, basil leaves, mint leaves, cardamom seeds) and lemon juice to the tea mixture. If desired, add sugar or another sweetener such as honey (if the tea is not sweet enough).
- Mix the tea mixture well and your tea is ready. This tea should be served hot and tastes best when it is made fresh.
